From all indications, Nigeria now has a new Police Boss to take charge of Louis Edet House, the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja. He is Ibrahim Kpotun Idris.

Credible sources have confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari is to announce a disciplined officer and former Kano State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Idris as acting Inspector General of Police.
Mr. Idris is currently an Assistant Inspector General of Police.

He is said to be a well experienced officer who has lived up to expectations in all his previous assignment and very loyal to his country - Nigeria. The last IGP, Solomon Arase is from the Southern part of Nigeria, so it is expected that the next IGP will come from the Northern part of the country.
Mr President has met with Idris. He is taking over from Arase, who retires from the Police Force today.
